About Kindness Unlimited
A Canadian humanitarian charity focused on helping people marginalized by poverty and hardship.
Serving the Downtown Core
Through volunteer outreach and the support of generous donors, the organization provides fresh meals and compassionate support to individuals in downtown Toronto.
The mission of Kindness Unlimited is simple: to care for our neighbours and promote dignity, compassion, and hope in our community.
Our Programs
Our outreach programs focus on providing fresh, healthy meals in accessible locations throughout the downtown core.
- Meals include protein-rich foods along with fruits, vegetables, and beverages.
- Food support is made possible through partnerships with food banks, restaurants, supermarkets, and individual donors.

Since 2015
"What began as simple acts of kindness soon grew into serving sandwiches, pasta, and full buffet-style meals."
From a Scooter to a Community
Kindness Unlimited was founded by Marshall Lucatch, a former award-winning Toronto realtor.
After 17 years in real estate, Marshall's life changed dramatically when he suffered a massive stroke on May 12, 2015 while selling a house. Following years of rehabilitation, he began searching for a new purpose in his life and decided it would be community outreach.
In August 2020 Marshall met Dr. Joel Simms and his wife Marleine Thede and they joined the mission. Joel helped with food acquisition and serving downtown and Marleine became the chef du jour providing delicious home cooked hot foods and soups that complemented pastas and meats that Marshall prepared in his kitchen.
In 2022, the organization partnered with another Toronto charity, Seeds of Hope, and then with the Out of the Cold Program of the Blythwood Road Baptist Church.
Over time, other volunteers and supporters, including Gary Nicholson in 2023, and Howie Farrell in 2024, joined the mission, helping grow the outreach. They added their beauty and beverages to the growing food effort.
Today, the organization continues its mission of compassion and service to Toronto's most vulnerable communities and is now launching an expansion project Marshall has envisioned for many years: putting a food truck on the road to bring food directly to the hungry in downtown Toronto.
